Consulting Ophthalmologists P. C. (COPC) is seeking an experienced full-time licensed optician to join our existing team of professionals in our optical shop in our Farmington & Glastonbury offices. We are a busy private multispecialty ophthalmology practice. Both of our offices also include an optical shop known as Consulting Optical.

Familiarity with electronic health records particularly Compulink is a plus but not required.

General Responsibilities

Assist clients in choosing the perfect frames and lenses that suit their style and prescription needs.

Conduct eye measurements and fittings with precision and care.

Educate clients about lens options coatings and care tips.

Perform adjustments and repairs of eyewear.

Assist patients with insurance coverage and the checkout process.

Maintain inventory of frames and sunglasses.

Assist with billing and filing of insurance.

Collaborate with the team to meet and exceed sales targets.

Keep the boutique tidy and organized making it a visually appealing space.

Job Title: Contact Lens Fitter Licensed Optician

Location:Confidential New Haven County

Job Type:Full Time Monday – Friday

Job Summary:As a Contact Lens Fitter you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the best possible contact lens solutions tailored to their individual needs. You will work closely with ophthalmologists and patients to provide fitting education and follow-up care for contact lenses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive contact lens fittings including assessments of patient needs and lifestyle considerations.
• Provide education to patients on proper contact lens care insertion removal and hygiene practices.
• Conduct follow-up appointments to monitor fit and comfort addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
• Collaborate with opthalmologists to interpret prescriptions and recommend appropriate contact lens options.
• Maintain accurate records of fittings prescriptions and patient interactions in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Stay updated on the latest contact lens products and technologies to provide informed recommendations.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of contact lens supplies.
• Support a positive patient experience through excellent customer service and communication.
• Provide Optician coverage in Optical shops as needed

Qualifications:

• CT Opticians License
• Previous experience in an optical setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of contact lens types materials and fitting techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Travel required to all offices
